The Things of God: A New Season, the Same Pursuit

So, here we are, more than a decade since I last wrote a blog. A lot has changed, but my pursuit is still the same. I am seeking after the things of God.

I long for His presence. I want to know Him more. I want to make Him known and to be known by Him. I want Him to be glorified in my life and through my life.

Let me tell you a little of what is going on as I sit here, this early Saturday morning, and think about beginning again.

God is a God of New Beginnings!

Revelation 21:5 tells us that He makes all things new.

Isaiah 43:18–19 tells us not to dwell on the former things, for He is doing a new thing.

Well, I am not sure that this is exactly a new thing, seeing as I am returning to something I began previously. But it is a new season. The blog itself has a new design and a new intention.

You will find much more here than previously existed because God has me in this new season, which I have been calling "a tremendous season of creative grace."

It is amazing to me how much grace is available to us. I think we often lose sight of just how much we live under His grace. When we think that we have probably exhausted the measure of His grace, He shows us more grace.

This season is coming after what seemed to be a long dry spell. Maybe I'll tell you about some of that in a future post, but for now, let me fill you in on what this season consists of and a little of what you will find on these pages.

Here, you will be able to peruse some of what God has me doing.

It all started when I created a Christmas present for Deb last year. It was a game I made called OUR Game. It has since gone into production and is now known as ROOTED Together. It is a board game designed to facilitate communication for couples, deepen their relationships, and help them rediscover one another.

We are so excited about the upcoming release of this product. God has been moving tremendously, both in giving me the idea for it and in the favor it is finding through our pilot testing and with those helping us bring it to market.

Also, as I sit to write this, I have nine manuscripts completed and about ready for publication. You can find those listed on the Books and Writing page. I cannot believe how much God has been speaking, releasing, and inspiring me. Again, it is a tremendous season of creative grace.

And I am finding that it is not just limited to me. Just yesterday, I sat with a brother who shared with me a product he has developed that is soon to come to market as well. We talked about how amazing the Holy Spirit is in giving us such wisdom and release.

Maybe He has spoken something to your heart or mind as well. Can I just encourage you to move in response to it?

When I started to write the first book, after the game went into process, I had no idea what all of that would lead to. Neither do you know what God might do, in you or through you, as you pursue the things of God yourself.

Well, I guess that I will sign off for now. It is my intention to write in this place twice a month.

I pray that, as I do so, you become richly blessed in the things of God. I pray that you might find yourself returning here to be encouraged and strengthened, and that you might even find it worth sharing this with others who need those things in their lives.

Until next time, I bless you in the name of the Lord.

  1. I rejoice for you in your new season, Pastor Jeff and Deb. The recurring theme I perceive of the ministry the Lord has given you is faithfulness to His call and destiny. Dear Lord, I declare in intercession, according to Your wonderful will, all the necessary blessings for abundance, guidance, continued maturing in the koinonia love of Christ, and steadfast thriving- over Redeeming Grace Ministries, Pastor Jeff's blog and his scribe's gift, and his and Deb's marriage and family. Send the saints to fellowship at that slice of heaven in Southern NH; in the anointed wisdom of Your love. Bring the tired and wearied ones in need of restoration and renewal through the respite their obedience to You offers- for overcomers win the crowns of life and victory for our King Jesus, bringing glory to the Father. In Christ's Name. Amen. Go Brother and Sister, go.
